DOOL Revamps Writing Team, Ron Departs!

Deadline has made an announcement that took the Days fandom by surprise. It stated, “Days is announcing that Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford will become the drama’s new head writers beginning immediately.” As part of the change, head writer Ron Carlivati will say goodbye to the Peacock show after seven years.

Moreover, episodes written by him will air through April 2025 due to the soap’s unique tape-to-air schedule. Cwikly, a vet writer, has written for The Young and the Restless, As The World Turns, and Sunset Beach.

The seasoned wordsmith also has a history with DOOL, having served as an associate and head writer in the early 2000s.

Meanwhile, Jeanne Marie Ford started her career as a writer’s assistant at Days back in 1992.  She’s currently on the writing team as a breakdown writer.

Additionally, her remarkable resume includes writing gigs for As The World Turns and One Life to Live. Showrunner Ken Corday expressed optimism about the change.

He said, “We look forward to approaching our 60th Anniversary next year with Paula and Jeanne Marie.” Corday teased about fresh and exciting stories that he knows the fans will embrace.

Furthermore, he expressed gratitude to Ron for his dedication and the respect he had shown to him and the show’s legacy. Now let’s take a look at Ron’s journey with Days!

Carlivati joined the Peacock soap in 2017, two years after being let go as General Hospital’s head writer. His tenure at Days brought the viewers memorable storylines like the one-year time jump and the devil’s return.

Furthermore, Ron also penned touching farewells for daytime icons John Aniston and Bill Hayes.
