Coronation Street star teases Lauren Bolton and Max Turner future as she ‘loves’ actor

Lauren is now back in Weatherfield, several months after suddenly disappearing without a trace

Coronation Street star Cait Fitton has teased a possible reunion between Lauren Bolton and Max Turner following her return to the cobbles. Lauren is now back in Weatherfield, several months after suddenly disappearing without a trace.

Lauren was presumed dead after she went missing back in February after being sacked from her job at Roy’s Rolls before she was later visited by a mystery person, who viewers of the ITV soap never got to see.

Roy Cropper was then thought to be the last person to see Lauren alive and after giving her some extra cash in her last pay packet and misguidedly cleaning her flat, he was accused of being responsible for her disappearance and later spent time behind bars, charged with Lauren’s murder.

However, in May it was confirmed that it was Joel Deering who was behind her disappearance and a shocking flashback clip revealed the solicitor as being Lauren’s secret ‘boyfriend’ and saw him brutally attack her with a chair leg.

Then in recent scenes, it was revealed Lauren has amazingly survived the brutal bashing and confirmation she was alive came when she appeared at Roy Cropper’s bedside after he suffered a heart attack in his beloved café. A confrontation with Joel then discovered the truth about his relationship with Lauren and the teen ran again.

However, during Wednesday night’s (July 17) episode, Dee-Dee Bailey and Bethany Platt managed to track Lauren down to a squat after retracing bank statements linked to her fraudulently using Bethany’s old company credit card. An oblivious Dee-Dee let Joel know they were on their way to find her and he raced to the scene himself after his future wife refused to wait for him.

He ended up discovering Lauren before the duo, with the pregnant teen fainting in his arms. Dee-Dee and Bethany then emerged, with Joel telling Lauren to keep quiet and he’ll make it worth her while, before the girls quickly insisted Lauren go to the hospital to be checked over, believing she’ll be safe there.

But it wasn’t long until Joel crept back in and told Lauren what she should say to the police. Spoilers for the next episode reveal that a pregnant Lauren will return to the street as she goes to the café to apologise to Roy before heading to the Rovers where Bobby Crawford offers her his bed for the night, leaving Carla Connor furious.

However, could viewers end up seeing Max, played by Paddy Bever, end up helping Lauren due to their past friendship. During a recent Q&A with her followers on Instagram, Cait addressed the possibility. She was asked: “Do you think Lauren and Max will ever rekindle things or just stay as friends?”

The soap star replied with a picture of the pair in a past scene together and said: “They’ll always be an initial spark between Lauren and Max. I hope they can develop their friendship and rekindle what they had.” Cait then added: “Plus I just love working with @paddybever.”

And talking to the Manchester Evening News at the recent RadioTimes.com Soap Awards in Manchester, Paddy told us how Max will feel about Lauren being back, saying: “He’s going to be really happy… Of course he’s going to be happy, somebody he cares about is safe and that’s the whole basis of where I’ve played Max…

“But I think it’s more complicated than that because it’s so overwhelming. It must be so shocking when someone you really care for, who you feel that you have lost, is actually alive.”
