Coronation Street’s Lauren Bolton shared the shock news recently that she’s pregnant with abuser Joel Deering’s child
Coronation Street fans have worked out when exactly Lauren Bolton will give birth.
The troubled youngster (played by Cait Fitton) made her shock return to the cobbles this month. As fans will recall, Lauren had been missing since February – and was presumed dead – sparking a long-running mystery storyline.
However, viewers later found out that sicko lawyer Joel Deering (Callum Lill) had brutally attacked her, before leaving her for dead.
And after months of being in hiding, Lauren headed to the hospital to visit Roy Cropper (David Neilson) in an episode last week. Roy had suffered a heart attack, weeks after being sent to prison for Lauren’s ‘murder.’
But things took a dramatic turn when Joel confronted Lauren at the hospital – shoving her into a family room where he attempted to lash out at her again. However, in a shock twist, Lauren protected her stomach – revealing to Joel she was pregnant with his baby.
A series of flashbacks in the episode also showed the truth behind her disappearance and her relationship with Joel.
The nasty solicitor wormed his way into Lauren’s life after helping her out with bills, eventually coercing her into a sexual relationship.
Lauren managed to escape from Joel last week, but in Wednesday’s episode (July 17), Lauren is tracked down by Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
Fearful of coming out of hiding, Lauren is eventually convinced by DeeDee that she will be safe at the hospital for a prenatal check-up. However, Joel later turns up at the hospital – leaving Lauren nowhere to turn.)
However, with the news of Lauren’s pregnancy sending viewers into a meltdown, other fans have ‘worked out’ when she could give birth.
On X, one fan said: “She’s five months pregnant. Ah, they’ve tied it in with Super Soap Week then! Halloween week is always super soap week.” The same user then quipped: “That’s it then – Lauren will have her baby down a Coronation Street sinkhole!”
Another viewer claimed it could be Christmastime when Lauren welcomes her child. They said: “Lauren’s bound to give birth at Christmas.”
Meanwhile, on an online fan forum, someone else missed: “The baby is due in 4 months so perhaps a bonfire night extravaganza.” A second replied: “Or maybe an early super soap week in October birth.”
