Coronation Street fans have been left issuing the same hope after spoiler photos showed Lauren Bolton in the hospital – and she wasn’t alone. The teen recently returned to Weatherfield after going missing back in February.

The character, played by Cait Fitton, was presumed dead following her sudden disappearance, which came after being sacked from her job at Roy’s Rolls before later being visited by a mystery person, who fans of the ITV soap never got to see.

However, in May it was confirmed that it was Joel Deering who was behind her disappearance and a shocking flashback clip revealed the solicitor as being Lauren’s secret ‘boyfriend’ and saw him brutally attack her with a chair leg.

Recent scenes revealed Lauren has amazingly survived the brutal bashing and her return came as she appeared at Roy Cropper’s bedside after he suffered a heart attack in his beloved café after being confronted by a group of yobs over Lauren’s disappearance and ‘death’.

However, when Lauren tried to make her exit undetected, Joel found her and dragged her into a family room where they had an intense confrontation. With flashback clips throughout, viewers saw how Joel started helping Lauren with her bills, before getting her to sleep with him in return for money and gifts.

It was when she tried to end things once and for all, and threatened to tell his fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey that Joel snapped and attacked her. But, in real-time, when Joel seemingly went to hurt Lauren again, she cowered and held her stomach, with him discovering she is carrying his child.

Since then, Lauren has done another runner but, Dee-Dee Bailey is on the hunt for her, alongside Bethany Platt, after it was confirmed she had visited Roy in hospital after Dee-Dee and Nina Lucas shared Roy’s comments with the police.

And now spoilers for scenes to air this week have teased even more drama for Joel as his fiancée Dee-Dee discovers Lauren’s whereabouts and baby news. In the next episode of Corrie, on Wednesday (July 17), Dee-Dee and Bethany track Lauren down to a squat.

It’s not long until they realise that terrified Lauren is pregnant and Dee-Dee insists on taking her to hospital to be checked out, believing she’ll be safe there.

But with evil predator Joel now also in the know, thanks to his unsuspecting fiance Dee-Dee, and DS Swain on the case looking for answers about the man behind the attack which left Lauren for dead, who will get to her first?

Meanwhile, as she’s faced with pressure from both sides, who will Lauren put her trust in? And desperate to keep his crimes hidden, can Joel continue to force her to stay quiet with his threats and empty promises or is Lauren about to reveal all to DS Swain and help take Joel down?

And following the release of the first-look images from the next episode, Corrie fans were quick to share the same ‘hope’ over Lauren and the storyline. Jess Allen said on Facebook: “I hope Lauren is able to get justice for what happened to her.” Beth Clay echoed: “I really hope Lauren tells the truth !! Joel doesn’t deserve to get away with this anymore!! Really hope Lauren gets justice.” Patricia Haine wrote: “I hope she tells all.”

But not everyone is convinced the truth will be revealed about Joel just yet. Jane Pilkington posted: “September it will all be revealed on the wedding day but hoping before.” Vienna Harrison added: “Poor Lauren, I reckon the truth will come out on Joel & Dee Dee’s wedding.”
