Sad exit for fan favourite and shock death news
EastEnders is set for sad scenes next week for one fan favourite as he plans to leave Albert Square. Soap fans will recall that the hit BBC One soap announced earlier this year that Billy Mitchell’s world would be turned upside down this summer when he discovered that his dad, Stevie Mitchell, has been hiding a secret family.
The BBC One soap teased at the time: “Stevie’s son Teddy Mitchell will arrive in Walford later this June alongside his sons Harry and Barney in search of his dad, but he soon gets more than he bargained for when he comes face to face with Billy, Phil and the rest of the Mitchell clan.

“Tensions will run high as Stevie confesses that Teddy is Billy’s half-brother, meaning there’s a whole new branch to the Mitchell family that neither Billy nor Phil knew anything about.” Viewers were introduced to the new Mitchell family last week but it appeared that there were still secrets as Teddy asked Stevie why he was lying, warning that the truth will come out.
In upcoming scenes next week, Billy decides to throw a surprise party for Stevie in The Vic and explains to son Will that Stevie and his long-lost mum, Val, shared the same birthday and that he doesn’t know where his estranged mum is living. Meanwhile, over at the café, Teddy meets Stevie to give him a card and warns him to stop lying.
The chat is overheard by a suspicious Phil, who realises they are keeping something from Billy, as he gets Ritchie to do some digging. Over at The Vic, Stevie is overjoyed to see the effort Billy and Will have gone to, and during the gathering Billy gives a speech about his dad, and wishes his mum well, wherever she is. However, in true soap style, Phil arrives and takes Stevie aside to show the evidence Ritchie has dug up on him.
Ushering Billy and Teddy back to No.18 with him and Phil, Stevie confesses to Billy that his mum is dead as he shares the tragic story of Val’s death, which leaves both Billy and Teddy reeling. Billy is left broken after the bombshell, confiding in Phil, who warns him to wise up to who Stevie really is. Meanwhile, Teddy implores Billy not to let this revelation rob them of their relationship.

Things go from bad to worse when Billy talks to Will, who misunderstands what he’s saying and reveals that Phil framed Stevie, to which Billy is left furious over Phil trying to wreck his new family. Later, Stevie begs Billy and Teddy to hear him out as he apologises for everything he’s done before planning to leave Walford. It’s not long until he gets in a confrontation with Phil to which Stevie asks Mo to do him a favour.
Later, Phil is furious to discover his car is missing and calls the police. Meanwhile, Stevie asks Billy if he can say goodbye to his grandchildren as he appears to bid farewell to Albert Square. Is this really the last we’ve seen of Stevie? Elsewhere, Phil, who is consumed by anger, continues to drive a wedge between himself and everyone close to him.
New Debbie twist as Reiss Colwell exposed
EastEnders’ Reiss Colwell will find himself exposed next week while a twist involving his estranged wife Debbie is revealed. Only recently on the BBC One soap, Reiss has embarked on another IVF attempt with girlfriend Sonia Fowler after the nurse found out he had been using his comatose wife Debbie’s money to fund the treatment.
Sonia’s sister Bianca Jackson uncovered the truth as she tracked Reiss down and found him by Debbie’s bedside in hospital after discovering he had tried to scam Kat Slater and Jay Brown in vain to gather the funds necessary for his other half.
Viewers will recall that Reiss eventually admitted to Sonia what he had been up to and after initial reluctance, the nurse was then convinced by Kathy Beale to give her beau some credit and the couple agreed to give things another shot… with the rest of Debbie’s money in hand. EastEnders viewers have been left wary of Reiss, speculating that Debbie’s coma could have been the result of his own actions.

And in upcoming scenes, things take another worrying turn when a nervous Sonia heads in for her embryo transfer and Reiss takes a call saying Debbie’s care fees are three months overdue, leaving the accountant stressed. Later in the week, Reiss is left even more anxious as he looks at an £18,000 bill for Debbie’s care fees.
In a quick bid to generate cash, he goes behind Sonia’s back and decides to rent the spare room to get some money. However, Reiss is soon caught by Sonia and she’s not happy to learn he’s been lying. This forces Reiss to open up about his money worries to which Sonia reassures him, pointing out they will find a way but getting a lodger isn’t the way forward. Later, Reiss is thrown a lifeline when Sharon offers him some work chasing her outstanding invoices.
Feeling desperate, Reiss decides to use some creative accounting to line his pockets while calling in the money Sharon’s owed. However, the accountant feels terrible and guilty when Sharon gives him his pay, plus a bit extra for doing the job at such short notice. Later, at home, Reiss again lies to Sonia that he has enough to pay Debbie’s care fees. How will Reiss pay off £18,000 and will he resort to more desperate measures?
