Coronation Street fans have flooded Cait Fitton with messages as she posed for some selfies following her exit from the show. The actress hasn’t been seen in the ITV soap for months after her character Lauren Bolton disappeared.
The teen mysteriously went missing from Weatherfield on February 23 after being sacked by Roy Cropper from her job at Roy’s Rolls. He later paid her a visit with her wages, and some extra cash to tide her over. But there’s been no trace of her since.
However, viewers did discover what happened before her exit in shock flashback scenes aired in May. The initial part of the truth was revealed when Joel was met in the street by Hope Stape who handed him a necklace that she found in his car when cleaning it, which viewers recognised belonged to Lauren.
A flashback clip revealed him to be Lauren’s secret ‘boyfriend’ and him brutally attacking her with a chair leg. However, with Nathan Curtis in the frame for Lauren’s murder, Joel is able to carry on as normal and is currently preparing to tie the knot with fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey.
Meanwhile, Corrie viewers have been left wondering if Lauren is really dead or if she is still alive but unable to return to Weatherfield. In the meantime, Cait is still posting to social media but fans can’t help but mention Corrie in the comments section of her posts.
In her latest upload, the soap star could be posing for a mirror selfie, in which she could be seen sporting a vibrant red crop top with figure-hugging gym shorts. She had also tied her silver locks into bunches as she posed for the camera before captioning the post: “Mirror Mirror.”
And as mentioned, it didn’t take long for the Corrie comments to come flooding in. @alan_type2 said: “Magic mirror on the wall, when will you come back if at all.” @homebrew1972 commented: “Gorgeous some people thought Lauren was going to be another Becky McDonald and Kelly Neelan. Hope we haven’t seen the last of your character on the cobbles.”
