Coronation Street star Kyran Bowes has been flooded with messages as he shared news of an achievement away from the cobbles. The actor is known for playing Jack Webster in the ITV soap, having held the role since 2016.

Jack is the teenage son of mechanic Kevin Webster and the tragic Molly Dobbs, who died in the Weatherfield tram disaster. The young character has had an eventful young life, including a brush with death after battling sepsis during which he underwent a life-saving surgery to have his leg removed.

Kyran, who hails from Blackpool, took a break from the show last year to focus on his studies. It was in August 2023 that he confirmed he was returning to the cobbles after receiving his GCSE results. He said at the time: “Hey all. Sorry for the absence. I took some time away to concentrate on my studies.”

It was then he shared some good news with his online following. He added: “Happy to say I’m back and even happier to say I passed my GCSES. Hard work and perseverance really does pay off. Now it’s time to celebrate.” After admitting it was a ‘stressful time’, Kyran was quickly flooded with praise and congratulatory messages.

Now, Kyran has revealed that he’s picked up an award as he continues his post-16 studies. Sharing a picture of himself smiling while holding a trophy, the soap star said: “Super chuffed with myself…

“I only went and got awarded STUDENT OF THE YEAR! Thank you to my tutors for this and most importantly for all your help & for believing in me.”
