In a dramatic turn of events, Gabi Hernandez is set to be released from captivity, while Johnny accuses EJ of fake sympathy over Chanel’s lost baby.

According to the Days of Our Lives spoilers for June 28th, Chanel, played by Raven Bowens, remains under hospital observation. Meanwhile, Johnny (Carson Boatman) promises to retrieve some of Chanel’s belongings from home, ensuring Paulina (Jackée Harry) stays away from Chanel’s hospital room as per Chanel’s wishes.

Paulina updates Abe Carver (James Reynolds) on Chanel’s hospitalization and the tension between them due to Chanel blaming Paulina for her miscarriage. Despite Abe’s attempts to defend Paulina, Chanel’s anger pushes him to step back, leaving him to simply sit with her for support.

At the DiMera mansion, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) urges Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) to find Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) and secure her cooperation in handing over a crucial black book that could clear Gabi’s name. Rafe manages to bring Melinda to the police station, where she reluctantly agrees to the deal, insisting the terms be finalized before she surrenders the book.

Meanwhile, Stefan (Brandon Barash) reassures Gabi about her imminent release. Gabi, skeptical about EJ’s sudden change of heart, suspects there’s more to the story. Despite her doubts, Stefan encourages her to visualize her freedom to make it feel real. Eventually, Rafe arrives to confirm Gabi’s release, leading to an emotional reunion.

Back at the DiMera mansion, Johnny informs EJ about Chanel’s miscarriage. EJ’s attempt at sympathy is met with skepticism by Johnny, who questions the sincerity of EJ’s concern given his previous opposition to Chanel’s pregnancy. After a heated exchange, Johnny accepts EJ’s assurances of genuine compassion, leading to a heartfelt embrace.

At the hospital, Johnny continues to comfort Chanel, despite her suggestion that he catch his flight to Los Angeles. He remains by her side, showing his unwavering support. Meanwhile, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) contemplates leaving Salem to process the revelation that he is the father of Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) baby, Jude. Nicole, understanding but hopeful Eric will stay, witnesses a touching moment as Eric sings to Jude.

As the day unfolds, EJ informs Nicole about Chanel’s loss, and Melinda thanks EJ for the immunity deal that freed Gabi. The spoilers suggest EJ will need to act quickly to prevent Melinda from revealing more damaging secrets, especially regarding Eric’s paternity of Jude.
