SPOILERS for upcoming Coronation Street scenes reveal Steve McDonald is set to face a tough betrayal.
Earlier this year, Steve split up with wife Tracy (Kate Ford) after she had an affair with former footballer-turned-decorator, Tommy Orpington.
Despite her infidelity with his footballing hero, Steve was willing to forgive her and move on.
However, Tracy admitted she was bored and wasn’t in love with him any more.
In scenes yet to air, Steve’s birthday party is not what he was expecting.
To make matters worse, he’s gutted to find out his best mate Tim (Joe Duttine) and his wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) are at the unveiling of a bust for Tommy Orpington.
Cassie (Claire Sweeney) offers to drive Steve there to confront them.
However, once they arrive, the pair discover a way to get revenge on Tommy once and for all.
It appears things don’t go quite to plan, as Steve later enlists Tim’s help to try and cover his tracks following his and Cassie’s antics at the bust unveiling.
After Debbie (Sue Devaney) soon rumbles the pair, will they be able to talk their way out of this one?
Throughout his 35-year tenure on the cobbles, Steve has long been portrayed as unlucky-in-love.
He has married a total of five women, as well as having remarried two of them, including Tracy.
Back in 2003, Steve and Tracy’s romance started out as a one night stand while he was separated from then-wife Karen (Suranne Jones).
Their fling resulted in the birth of daughter Amy (now played by Elle Mulvaney), in 2004.
Steve and Tracy first married in 2012 after his divorce from Becky (Katherine Kelly) was finalised.
However, it came to a swift end after it transpired Tracy lied about being pushed down the stairs and miscarrying.
Despite this, Steve was unable to legally end the marriage until after a year or kick her out of the house, as it was in both of their names.
After his divorce from Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh), Steve and Tracy tied the knot again in 2018, in what had been his longest-lasting marriage until her affair with Tommy.
Will Steve manage to find lasting love or is he forever unlucky?
