Harris and Ava bid farewell in a dramatic twist. Harris enters the room where Ava is, and she awkwardly welcomes him.

Despite her attempts to apologize for their previous confrontation over Clyde, Harris resists. He acknowledges Ava’s belief that she had no choice but to deal with Clyde but informs her that he’s returning to town not for her, but for Hope. Harris has a lead on Megan Hathaway and has already told Rafe he’s leaving the force indefinitely. Though he has strong feelings for Ava and wants to improve their relationship, he needs to confront Megan first. Ava, in tears, asks if this is goodbye. Harris doesn’t answer, but they share a poignant kiss and cuddle. After an intimate night, Harris gathers his belongings, wipes away Ava’s tears, and embraces her one last time before leaving, leaving both emotional.

Meanwhile, at the Salem Inn, Brady and Theresa catch their son Tate and Holly in a compromising position, leading to a heated confrontation. Despite their parents’ anger and accusations, Tate and Holly insist they just wanted to spend time together after being forbidden to see each other or attend prom together. Teresa’s harsh words towards Holly anger Tate, who defends Holly and lashes out at his parents. Brady reminds Tate of the trust he broke. Eventually, Brady and Teresa promise never to leave the teens alone again.

At Marina and John’s place, Eric jokes with Marina about his boundaries and reassures her he’s coping with his pain. Marina laments Johnny and Chanel’s upcoming move to Los Angeles. Tate bursts in, followed by Brady, and vents about his parents ruining his evening. Marina and Eric advise Tate to be open with his parents if he wants them to accept his relationship with Holly.

At the DiMera mansion, EJ and Nicole bicker about ice cream flavors, then EJ becomes serious, admitting he saw Nicole kiss someone the night she came home drunk. Despite his fears, Nicole assures EJ of her love and commitment. Teresa enters with Holly, explaining why she’s home early. Nicole confronts Holly, who admits she was with Tate. After Teresa leaves, Holly insists her actions weren’t as bad as Teresa made them out to be.

Later, Alex talks to Victor’s portrait at the Kiriakis mansion, expressing his feelings for Theresa while holding an engagement ring. Maggie joins, and they discuss their strained relationship and Victor’s legacy. Despite their difficulties, Maggie assures Alex they’ve buried the hatchet, and they share a moment of understanding.
