The former X Factor contestant turned Big Brother and Gogglebox star was mentioned in the Wednesday’s episode of the BBC One soap,

which hasn’t aired on TV at the time of writing, but is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

In the episode, Big Mo and Stevie were selling stolen toasters at the market, telling a potential punter: “You know who’s got one like this? Rylan off the telly, and he knows good quality.”

Rylan shared that moment to his Instagram and added a short clip of his own. In it, he tried to use his toaster, but it didn’t work. As he walked off, he called out Mo’s name in anger.

While it looks like Rylan is just having a laugh, we’re sure we’re not the only ones who would love to see him make a proper cameo, following on from Olly Alexander earlier this year, and the now-King and Queen back in 2022.

Going back almost a decade, Rylan spoke about his desire to appear on EastEnders, but stated that he actually wanted a proper acting role rather than just a one-off cameo.

“I’d love to get into acting,” he said at the time while speaking to the Daily Star. “I just love EastEnders. People think I was born in Essex but I was born in Stepney in East London. I think I could do it. It would be great to play a proper hardman.”

He also had some interesting ideas for his character. “I could join the Carters or be a long-lost Slater. Or I could be a Mitchell. Actually, I love Kathy Beale so much. She’s my idol. So I’d want to be her long-lost son,” he said.

“I could do a South African accent. It could start as a cameo then I’d want to go back properly.”
